Rooster is a truly special gelding that is the kind you keep forever, which his owner, Claire, would prefer if she wasn’t heading off to college. Rooster is a proven show horse, having earned $2,281 and still showing. The mind this gelding has is second to none, as he shows up for work ready to perform. Rooster is the kind of horse that we all dream of having-- gorgeous, kind, talented, and safe. While he can complete a reining pattern with tenacity, it is his natural desire to stay cool that sets him apart.  

We believe his video will show you exactly how remarkable he is, but we will try to explain in detail as well. To keep it plain and simple, this gelding is EASY. He is easy to steer, easy to sit his gaits, easy to spin, easy to stop, easy to lead change, easy to be around, and easy in every single way one could imagine. Rooster is not the typical show horse that only knows the arena. He has been exposed to all things outdoors and the everyday way of life. 

Rooster is a favorite to trail ride as he is never rushed, goes exactly where you ask, and can ride alone with no hesitation. Rooster will cross creeks, enter a large body of water, and cross logs. He knows where to put his feet when going up and down hills and other terrain. Rooster would be completely content spending his days as your trail riding partner.  

In the arena, one can ride Rooster slowly and quietly, or ask him for everything he has—either way, you have a willing, confident partner. 

Rooster’s fast-to-slow transition is fantastic and easy to call upon. He is confident in his run downs and will always hit his brakes. We love the speed control he has in his run downs! Rollbacks are as easy as a rein cue, and light leg and his spins are stylish. Drop the bridle for fun and ask him to do all the above too! The way he rides is truly impressive. Rooster has been shown in the ranch riding & trail classes where he opens gates, crosses bridges & logs, side-passes, and stands quietly to be roped off of. In the ranch riding he is quiet when asked for speed transitions and lead changes. 

We genuinely cannot say enough about this exceptional 15 hh gelding. Claire has done such an incredible job with him. Rooster has been with Claire since he was a yearling.  We wholeheartedly believe that this is one for the whole family! Rooster is sound with a current PPE & radiographs available.
