ABOUT THE HORSE

This one is tall, dark, and handsome! “Icon" has been around our place since the beginning of his three-year-old year and we purchased him straight from his breeder. Bri spent all last year getting him fancy broke, exposing him to the ranch life, and started on the barrels. This gelding is very sweet on the ground and gentle to be around!
Icon’s blood is infused with talent and run. He is an own son of NFR qualifier and money earner: KR Famous Tequila who won over $100,000. He was a Canadian Finals qualifier and money earner and AQHA world show bronze place winner. KR is by #1 all barrel horse sire: Dash Ta Fame. Dash Ta Fame is a $39 million sire! KR is out of a daughter of the legendary Chicks Beduino. Icon’s dam is an own daughter of $24 million sire: Ivory James.
Icon is very broke in the arena- he will ride in the bridle, move his body parts, counter-arc, and drag his butt. He is broke when you pick him up and ask him to move over, make a turn, or pull him in the ground. Icon can seriously stop- he leaves 11s in the ground ALL the time. He is very responsive with hand and leg cues.
Icon has been used to sort cattle and help break roping steers in on the heel side (leaving the box and pushing the steer up the rope). He will absolutely cow up to a steer. Icon loves to trail ride! Ride him out alone with no fuss and take him for a swim! This guy loves the water! We have even ridden him under English tack and man does he wear it well! This guy is a beautiful mover!! He absolutely floats across the ground
Needless to say, this guy has had a great, well-rounded foundation. Icon has gotten very solid on the barrels. Spent a lot of time on slow and correct with this guy. For being a running bred horse, he is always ready to turn! That being said, he also has a LOT of run to him. This guy can FLY. He has a really cool feel around a barrel and tries hard. Icon will be ready to enter in no time.
